Formal Dinning Room
The formal dining room was used for very executive setting. It usually had fine china and very fancy chairs, tables, etc. The family never ate in this room unless it was very formal time like in a buiseness to attend to, or if they had guests.
We chose this picture because it has fine china and it is very fancy.
Informal Dining Room
The informal dining room was used in regular situation like in an every day meal such as breakfast, lunch or dinner. The difference between this one and its more fancy counterpart is that it is not fancy at all. although this room is not fancy a thing that signifies their wealth is the fact that they have a lot of red in this room.
We chose this picture because the table does not have a white table cloth or fine china.THe white cloth represents how clean they can be, but that is not the case in this informal room.
Field
This field is a field that includes tobacco, indigo, etc. A field of this stature is only owned by a very wealthy man which is what my client, I'm sure, is. This field was usually worked on by the slaves owned by the plantation owner.
I chose this picture because it represents what a wealthy plantation owner is, which is that he is a wealthy man who has, regularly, a huge field.
Parlor
This is the owner's parlor. This is where the man or woman would greet the guests. Another thing that would happen in the parlor is the man or the woman would entertain their guests. In this case it is only parlor, because we feel that the men and the women should be united and talk, socialize, and entertain together.
We chose this picture because it has a nice shade of blue and red on the chair, which is a good sign of the couples wealth. Also, because the grandfather clock in the corner is very fancy and shows of their wealth. Also because of the the table cloth it is a light green which makes it tough to get stains out.
Kitchen
This is the kitchen this is where, normaly, a slave would prepare stews, soups, breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. In some cases the plantation owner was so righ he might be able to HIRE a white chef insted of FORCE a slave to cook. The arm inside of the big oven is the arm in which they would suspend soups or stews from.
Bedroom(Men&Women)
This is the couple's bedroom. This is where the man and women of the house come to sleep. Very little to no activity happened in the bedroom except for sleepin. This was not a place where guests would com in to socialize or talk. It was nearly forbidden for any one to socialize in the bedroom except the man and the woman who sleeps in it.
We chose this picture because it is what we think is suitible for the man and the woman of this plantation house.
Ballroom/Guest Bedroom.
This room is the Dance Hall/Guest Bedroom. The reason I have the slash is because it was the guest bedroom for any guests that wished to spend the night or familly, and it was also able to be coverted to be a dance hall. All of this furniture would pshed to the side and that would make the dance hall more acssesable for any guests.
We chose this picture because it a symbol, we think, of what he would have.
Laundry And Dishwasing Room
THis is the laundry and dishwashing room. Generally this room was not kept clean, sanitary, or even remotely appealing to the eye. Also this is where the slaves would be hard at work washig the dirty laundry, and also wawashing all the filthy dishes.
We chose this picture because it is a very simple room, althogh it is a very pricey room (pay atention to the painted walls.)
Servats Quarters
This is the slave village or quarters. This is where the slaves slept ate and lived, unless they were a house servant. The slave village was normally very far away from the plantation owner.
We chose this picture because we believed that this is what a slave village looked like.
Garden This is the garden. This is something that a big group of slaves would have to do daily upkeep to keep it looking nice, pretty, appealing, and gorgeous.
We chose this picture because it is a beautiful, gorgeous garden that I believe is what a man of my clients stature was sure to have.
